Tenant’s Setup Process for Online Payments

After you emailed the Rent Payment Instructions to your tenant, she has to setup an account at the Tenant Payment Center and authenticate her banking information before she can make her first payment. This takes about three business days.

She will be required to create a username and password, enter her banking information (checking or savings accounts only), and enter her credit card information. Each TPC account is required to have a valid credit card on file in the event a payment made returns as insufficient funds.  If there are insufficient funds LeaseRunner charges a $25 NSF fee to the credit card on file.  We will never charge rent or any other payments to the tenant's credit card on file.

Your tenant needs to agree that LeaseRunner can authenticate her account and charge two micro-charges (under $1 each) to her bank account. Within 2 - 3 business days, she will be able to identify those charges using her online banking and enter them into her Tenant Payment Center account. This is when she will be able to submit her first rent payment.

Your tenant can either opt in for Autopay on the first business day of the month or pay rent by submitting the payment manually.

The Rent Payment Instructions email contains: If your tenant is having trouble logging in, you can resend the Rent Payment Instructions email to her. It contains all of the information she needs.
