Tenant’s Setup Process for Online Payments

After you emailed the Rent Payment Instructions to your tenant, she has to setup an account at the Tenant Payment Center and authenticate her banking information before she can make her first payment. Depending on the bank account authentication process chosen by your tenant, this can be instantaneous or can take up to three business days.

She will be required to create a username and password, enter her banking information (checking or savings accounts only).

Authenticating Tenant's Banking Information

Tenants must authenticate the bank account they wish to use with one of two methods: Instant Account Verification or Micro-charges.
With Instant Account Verification the tenant enters the the bank's routing number and account number, LeaseRunner will connect her online to her bank's online banking,  and the tenant enters her login credentials for online banking to authenticate the user.
If a tenant does not have online banking, or if she just prefers to use the micro-charges method, LeaseRunner will take two micro-charges (under $1.00 each) from her bank account.Within 2 - 3 business days, she will be able to identify those charges using her online banking and enter them into her Tenant Payment Center account. This is when she will be able to submit her first rent payment.

Your tenant can either opt in for Autopay on any day of the month or pay rent by submitting the payment manually.

The Rent Payment Instructions email contains: If your tenant is having trouble logging in, you can resend the Rent Payment Instructions email to her. It contains all of the information she needs.
